Cool a. Moisture is absorbed through the skin from the bottom yes, although how it would protect. Leather bottom is dry and warm climates but 'not in these latitudes. Familiar shoemaker vinkkasi sometimes many years ago that you should wear leather soled shoes so much that the surface wears rough, then the new floor on top.
